AHIMSA - Harmlessness

Harmlessness comes from a loving and caring heart. Harmlessness can be cultivated through wisdom. One has to let petty issues and daily sorrows to go and allow the greater force of the ebbing love to take over the emotional states of anger and vindictiveness. If one get drowned in the sorrows of worries and suspicion then these strong thoughts and emotions can paralyse and the flow of real vital force is altered. This can cause various psycho-somatic problems to an individual or disease in general.  The essence of the soul within each one of us enhances by the practice of non- violence.  Non- injury can be on so many levels - physical, verbal emotional & mental. The harm that these can cause scars the person and be even dramatic to the life of the person upon whom it was inflicted.  Ahimsa was preached by MahatmaGandhi. Which means non-violent communication. Which implies respecting the space of every individual and being very cautious about the words, actions & responses. Absence of love results in ruthlessness and harshness.

I would like to quote Holy Master DK; “Lose sight of your own affairs, your petty sorrows, worries and suspicions, in the urgency of the task to be done, and spread the cult of unity, of love, of harmlessness” -Serving Humanity.
